Are you ready for another Indie City Games meeting–the very first of 2014? Well boy howdy are you ever in the right place! It just so happens that we’re going to having that very thing on February 22 starting at 1 PM.
On the agenda:
–a sound design and music panel featuring local luminaries Ben Crossbones, Whitaker Trebella, George Hufnagl and Sean Hogan! We will discuss how they approach scoring games and designing their other aural characteristics, with questions from the audience at the end.
–a talk on educational games from Robert Lockhart! Things have progressed quite a bit from the days of Number Munchers and The Oregon Trail, and Rob intends to tell us all about it!
–open mic show and tell! This old stand-by of ICG meetings past has finally returned after a long hiatus. We’re going to streamline things this time around, though: bring a stand-alone build of your game on a USB stick so we can load everything onto the same computer and call people up to come strut their stuff without having to reconnect new equipment every time. Sign up will be at the start of the meeting, so make sure you’re on time!
–mingling and open play, as is customary. Bring your own laptop and set it up somewhere around the outside of the room if you wanna have people play your game.
–BONUS: we are now going to try having a lunch break in the middle of the meeting! We’ll give everyone 45 minutes to run to Chipotle / Subway / wherever, return with their foodstuffs and eat.
That about covers it. Are you excited? I know I am! I’ll see you there!
